Intensive Russian Assaults Eliminate Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has increased strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty missiles struck the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A series of attacks hit power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.

Local officials said the city came under significant strikes overnight. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were injured.

The strikes follow nights of aerial attacks in the area, portions of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
